WINTER POST-SEASON UPDATE

Fishing:
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Fishing Association held their STATE CHAMPIONSHIP this past weekend – Feb 21st on the Wisconsin River – Stevens Point to Wausau. Your Wolves Team finished the day as STATE CHAMPIONS! Congrats to all the anglers and coaches involved! Coaches have a great writeup and pictures on their facebook page HERE. 

Wrestling: 
In a tough sectional on Friday night, the Wolves were able to get one girl through to the State tournament! Addi Brown was able to pin the #3 girl in the state in her wrestleback to qualify for her third trip to the state tournament! Addi will wrestle around 2pm on Thursday at the Kohl Center.  Here is her Bracket

Boys competed in their Individual Sectionals Saturday 2/14.  Senior Trey Zemke – was able to qualify for a berth in his third state tournament  Trey will compete on Thurs 2/26 of the state tournament at the Kohl center around 6pm. Here is his Bracket

The team competed in team sectionals this past Saturday (the top team advances to state and second place has a chance at a wildcard to advance).  They finished 2-2 on the day as a team and ended up in 3rd place to conclude their season. 

Girls Basketball: 
Our girls basketball team earned a 2 seed in the WIAA Division 3 Bracket.  They will NOT have a game on Tuesday the 24th, the first round of regionals.  They will wait to take on the winner of Wrightstown and Two Rivers on FRIDAY FEBRUARY 27th AT HOME at 7pm. If the girls win on Friday night, it is a quick turnaround to HOST once again on Saturday evening the 28th for the Regional Championship.  The cost is 6.00 to attend regional events for adults and students – no passes accepted.  

Girls Hockey:
The girls co-op (Xavier) WON their regional last week and will play again in the first round of sectionals tomorrow against the DePere Co-op.  This game is at the Cornerstone Community Ice center and begins at 5:30pm.  The girls will need to win to move on to the sectional final at UW-Milwaukee on Friday 2/27 at 4:30pm. Boys Basketball:
Boys Basketball plays their last regular season game on Thursday at GB West. The boys’ tournament series bracket was revealed yesterday.  They earned a 5 seed in the Division 3 WIAA Bracket and will HOST a first round matchup on Tuesday March 3rd against Chilton in the Wolf Den! Game will start at 7pm, no passes at regional events with all tickets for adult and students $6.00.  Winner of this game will travel to Little Chute Friday March 6th. 

Powerlifting: 
The team has 6 state qualifiers this year in Hudson Samolinski, Avery Samolinski, Brody Cross, Mason Mathe, Kendal Vette and Ethan Albrecht.  The State meet takes place in Appleton at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center March 6-8th.  More info on the State meet –> HERE

Cheer: 
The stunt team had a great season with a couple of 1st place finishes, but their routine did not make the state tournament this year.  Final qualifier placement results are still pending. 

Bowling: 
No postseason for the bowlers this year.  The boys team finished just under .500 in league play and the girls finished 10-5.  The team will have their end of season league party/awards Tuesday 2/24.
